Spring tree-plantation campaign kicks off in Helmand

Governor, Al haj Muhammad Naeem on Thursday inaugurated a spring tree-plantation drive aimed at growing this year thousands of ornamental grass nurseries in Lashkar Gah, the capital and some other districts of the southern Helmand province. Naeem, who planted an ornamental tree to begin the campaign, said ornamental trees were being delivered free of cost to the municipality and other government departments through the agriculture department in order to see "a decorated Lashkar Gah."

The governor urged Lashkar Gah dwellers to look-after trees newly planted during the campaign, hoping new fruit-bearing and fruitless saplings would help make the city greener and beautified.
